-The Original Cooking Segment-

Sponsored by Don Quijote

“Itadakimasu” means, “thank you for the food”. The thank you is not only directed at the person or people who prepared or served the food. It is also meant to acknowledge the farmers who produced the food, and everyone else involved who provided the food. It is a beautiful way to show respect and gratitude before eating.

The “Itadakimasu” segment introduces local ethnic recipes using ingredients and products available at Don Quijote.

Itadakimasu is hosted by Hawaii’s-own JP Lam, a host of Naruhodo and Japanese Word of the Day, which are also aired on KIKU-TV.
