EPISODE 1 (BODYGUARD PROFESSION):
Samurai Matahachiro Aoe of the Kuwayama clan overhears a conversation about a conspiracy to poison the lord. He informs his future father-in-law, Kisaemon Hiranuma, not knowing that he is one of the conspirators. Matahachiro then kills Kisaemon in an act of self defense, which his fiancé, Yuki, witnesses. He ends up fleeing to
EPISODE 2 (THE RUNAWAY RONIN):
Matahachiro is hired by a woman who wants him to secretly guard her husband, who has been on the run from someone for 16 years. Back at the clan, Yuki’s brother, Rinnojo, works on improving his sword skills in order to kill Matahachiro and avenge his father’s death.
EPISODE 3 (THE SHADOW OF AN AKO RONIN):
Matahachiro and fellow bodyguard Gendayu Hosoya must protect a man who says he is being threatened for his intervention during the Ako incident when Lord Asano attacked Lord Kira. Yuki takes refuge at the house of Matahachiro’s grandmother, despite the objections of her and Yuki’s brother Rinnojo.

Matahachiro offers to become the bodyguard of a streetwalker who is being stalked. Meanwhile, Hosoya regrets accepting work without hearing the details of the job first.

Kikyo purposely gets caught by Jyuan’s men in hopes of killing Jyuan herself.
EPISODE 12 (A LONER):
