2012 Mother’s Day Haiku Contest Official Rules
1. Description of Promotion. The Mother’s Day Haiku Contest Promotion is sponsored by KIKU-TV, 737 Bishop St., Suite 1430, Honolulu, Hawaii, 96813 and Vacations Hawaii, Laka Skin Care & Spa and Taormina Italian Restaurant, their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents The contest begins on Monday, April 9, 2012, and ends on Friday, April 27, 2012. Entries must be received by Friday, April 27, 2012. By entering, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of KIKU-TV.
2. Eligibility. You must be a current legal resident of Hawaii and 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, their immediate family members, or anyone residing in the households of the employees of KIKU-TV, Vacations Hawaii, Laka Skin Care & Spa and Taormina Italian Restaurant are not eligible. Only one entry per person per day will be accepted. No purchase is necessary to enter or win.
3. How To Enter. From April 9, 2012 through April 27, 2012, individuals send to KIKU-TV a haiku they have written about their mother. The haiku must be written by the person submitting the haiku and must be legible and in English. The haiku must be in the correct three lines and five syllable, seven syllable, five syllable format. The haiku will be void if it is incomplete, illegible, damaged, or altered, or if it contains any obscene or offensive words. Entries must be received by 11:59pm Friday, April 27, 2012. All entries become the property of Sponsors and Sponsors reserve the right to use any information submitted by entrants. Entrants agree to grant Sponsors the right to print, publish, broadcast and use, worldwide and in any media now known or hereafter developed, including, but not limited to the worldwide web at any time or times, the name, portrait, picture, voice or likeness and biographical information of the entrants. Entries should include the entrant’s name, address, and daytime phone number, and can either be mailed to KIKU-TV, 737 Bishop St., Suite 1430, Honolulu, HI 96813, or emailed to info@kikutv.com, or send us a message on Facebook. In submitting via email, entrants agree not to upload, post, or transmit any materials containing computer viruses or harmful components intending to damage, interfere with, or harm any computer system or to gain personal information.
4. How Winners Will Be Selected. Winners will be determined by random drawing from all eligible entries received. Winners will be notified within two days of the drawing. If a winner cannot be notified within that time, a new winner will be drawn. Haiku submitted by contestants will be posted on the station’s website, and may be broadcast on air. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.KIKU-TV reserves the right to revoke any prize awarded and disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the contest or in violation of the Official Rules.
5. Prizes.One grand-prize winner will receive a Vacations Hawaii trip for two to Las Vegas. The prize is non exchangeable and there is no cash redemption. The Vacations Hawaii package includes roundtrip airfare for two on their nonstop Omni Internationalcharter flights between Honolulu & Las Vegas, five nights at the California Hotel, three meals daily with roundtrip Las Vegas airport transfers. At least one guest must be a Hawaii resident or active military based in Hawaii. Guest must be 21 years or older to receive meal coupons.
Five runners-up will receive a $100 gift certificate from Laka Skin Care & Spa and five runners-up will receive a $100 gift certificate from Taormina Italian Restaurant. The runners-up prizes are non-exchangeable and there is no cash redemption.
Prizes must be picked up at KIKU-TV’s office at 737 Bishop St., Suite 1430, Honolulu, HI, 96813 during regular business hours Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm by Friday, May 11, 2012. Legal and valid identification must be presented by the winner. Limit one prize per household.
