Can you believe the year is almost over? In three weeks it will be Christmas and one week after that, it will be 2016!

We have our 2016 New Year’s specials in place and are already working on translating and subtitling them. The star of the specials is Kohaku, the annual Red and White Song Contest. This year will be the 66th anniversary of Kohaku! That in itself is amazing.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be telling you more about our New Year’s specials, as well as three new dramas that will begin in January. There is a lot that will be happening in 2016. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at what’s to come!

How many episodes of mother class is there?

  2. Ellen Morishita says:

What happened with the last 30 minutes of Doctor ? My DVR did not tape it. Also why was “Mother Class” listed in the guide as Investigator Mariko? That show did tape because I had it programmed to tape the series however, a relative’s DVR did not tape it.

Are you referring to Doctor X? If so, was your DVR set to record 1-1/2 hours of the final episode?

I’m sorry about the incorrect listing on the guide. It is extremely frustrating to us, too. Oceanic’s TV listing service has not been updating KIKU’s program information. We send them the correct programs, but they are not updating the schedule. As a result, KIKU’s programming is incorrect on Oceanic. We’ve complained to their listing service and they finally said they would pay more attention.

Looking forward to the New Years specials.
But can you please provide more info about Chushingura. Which version is it?
This story was adapted so many times.
    Who plays in it?
    Thank you.

    • Phyllis Kihara says:

You are right; this classic story has been adapted many, many times. The version we are airing was made by Toei for TV Asahi. It stars Masakazu Tamura as Kuranosuke Oishi, Tetsuji Tamayama as Takuminokami Asano, and Shima Iwashita as Riku Oishi.
